Standard Operating Procedure - POWER OF ATTORNY(POA) Process ONLINE

Power of Attorney (POA) process-ONLINE

For the Power of Attorney (POA) process, we will provide all the necessary documents to the lawyer, including the owner’s passport copy, our company’s trade license, and the manager’s Emirates ID. Additionally, we will outline the conditions under which the POA can be revoked.

Once the POA document is drafted, it will be sent to the owner for review and to confirm consent. If the owner is not in the UAE, a video call link will be provided at a convenient time and date for verification. During the scheduled video call, the owner will need to open the link, where a Notary Public representative will ask to see the original passport and confirm to whom the POA is being granted and the reason for granting it. These are the only two questions asked before the meeting is concluded.

After the verification process, the original POA will be generated within an hour and can be verified using a QR code. Please note, the owner must have the original passport for this process, and if required, we can arrange for a Chinese translator.

Key Documents Required:

  • Valid passport copies of both the principal and attorney.
  • Emirates ID (if applicable).
  • The POA document (drafted and reviewed by legal professionals).
  • Proof of residency (if required).

Important Notes:

  • The principal must be of sound mind and legal age to assign a POA.
  • For property-related POAs, ensure compliance with the Dubai Land Department’s requirements.
  • Be aware of the scope of authority you grant in the POA to avoid potential misuse.

By following these steps, the POA is legally valid and enforceable in Dubai.
